The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension and the Center for Urban Agriculture on the Griffin Campus are proud to bring you

Green and Growin´ Year Round

A series of Fall Workshops, exclusively designed to help you learn and enjoy the wonderful world of plants in a relaxed and creative environment!

From colorful annuals and perennials to culinary herbs and medicinal plants, the hands-on workshops will delve into container gardens, seed and vegetative propagation, hobby greenhouses, healing gardens, aromatherapy, and much, much more! Seating is limited, so call ahead and register yours today!

September 26, 2008, 9am - 3pm:

PLANT PROPAGATION AND HOBBY GREENHOUSES HANDS-ON Multiply your garden favorites using seeds and cuttings! We will talk about the fundamental principles of plant propagation, from basic seed and cutting physiology, to methods and techniques in rooting perennials and woody plants, and the essential details of setting up a successful propagation setup. Learn how to propagate Georgia´s "best of the best" ornamentals, the Georgia Gold Medal winners. We will give you an opportunity to propagate native Georgia plants to spice up your plant palette. Best of all, there will be plenty of actual exercises to get your fingers dirty-and you can take home a load of cuttings and seeds when you leave! We will also talk about hobby greenhouses; from structures, to irrigation, misting, heating, cooling, and lighting, to growing media and fertilizers.

Registration Fee for EACH workshop: EARLY / LATE $105 /$125 Discount price of $290 for all three!

Registration fee include refreshments, lunch, various materials for the hands-on workshops, such as a wide variety of plants and seeds, clippers, rooting hormones, containers, growing media, and aromatherapy supplies.
