Greater Atlanta Rose Society Spring Rose Show

Show hours:   Saturday, 6:30 am to 9:30 am

Exhibitors submit rose entries;

Show open to the public from 1 pm to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.  Atlanta Botanical Garden admission fee required; free admission into rose show.

The Carroll County Master Gardeners will be having their annual Mother's Day Plant Sale on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ag Education Center, 900 Newnan Road, Carrollton. They will be selling healthy, inexpensive plants of all kinds grown by Master Gardeners and hard-to-find native azaleas. This year the emphasis is on drought-tolerant plants and cultural practices. They will also be selling their new Master Gardener Cookbooks for $20 each, full of delicious recipes and gardening tips. (All cookbook proceeds will benefit Carroll County Veterans' Memorial Park.) Be early for best selection.

Cobb MG Garden Tour

PRIVATE GARDENS OF COBB MASTER GARDENERS

MASTER GARDENER VOLUNTEERS OF COBB COUNTY invite you to stroll five delightful personal gardens and one Master Gardener Project on Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Advance tickets are $10.00 per person, or $12.00 on the day of the tour at each garden. Each garden will have opportunities for the public to learn ways Master Gardeners are meeting the challenges of our drought. Plant lists and printed educational materials will be available, as well as master gardeners on hand to answer questions.

A Master Gardener Plant Sale at the McFarlane Nature Center will feature drought tolerant plants, herbs and vegetables. The Plant Sale is open to the public.

All proceeds from the tour and plant sale support MCVOCC projects in Cobb County.

Rain Barrel Workshop
 

SCHEDULED AT GWINNETT COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL AND HERITAGE CENTER

Participants will receive a 55 gallon barrel, complete with screening and a spigot, ready to collect free rainwater to use in your garden or pond.
